Let's dive into the topic of
web accessibility!

For this CodePub we picked a super interesting and important topic and found two great speakers from Netlight & SIGNAL IDUNA! 🤗

As we are building digital products for humans, they should be accessible to and usable by everyone - regardless of whether they live with a disability or have an impairment. đź’ś

Taking accessibility into account in Software Development, UX/UI, and Product Management will make websites and mobile applications more inclusive, barrier-free, and understandable. 🙌

Also, accessibility will become mandatory 👩‍⚖️: In 2025 a new law is set in place that obligates companies to make their products accessible. Websites and mobile applications face special challenges, as they will have to implement the criteria to match this law.

This is easier said than done! 🤔 So let's talk about the how!

On the 14 of June you

  • will get your hands and brains dirty in a workshop about accessibility
  • can discuss the topic with others
  • will have inspirational exchanges while networking with other women and non-binary in tech
  • get food & drinks on our terrace

We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

Code Pub@thecodepub_hh

We are an international meet-up for women and non-binary people who want to learn more about IT and open for beginners as well as professionals. Our goal is empowering every woman and non-binary people in the tech industry by creating a platform where one can be inspired and inspire others. The Code Pub was created by Netlight in the spring of 2013 with the purpose of increasing the number of women and non-binary in the IT industry. By lowering the threshold for getting started with programming and highlighting female role models within IT, we believe that we can make a difference. In order to have a bigger impact on the entire industry we work together with other cool IT companies and they will be hosting occasional The Code Pub meet-ups.
